MakeUp in New York Announces Conference Schedule

The 4th edition of the show will take place September 23-24

Having just wrapped up the 5th edition of MakeUp in Paris (stay tuned for a full show review in the July/August issue of Beauty Packaging), details are being finalized for the New York edition of the show, now in its 4th year. The exhibit and conference program, which will take place September 23- 24 will once again be held at the Center548 in Chelsea (548 West 22nd Street
New York, NY).

More than 85 exhibitors will participate, and a dozen conferences are scheduled, including:

Tuesday September 23, 2014
10:00 am – 11:00 am: 
“Overview of Color Cosmetics in the U.S.”
Using NPD’s unique data assets and her industry expertise, Kissura Mondesir will explore successful innovations and key trends and identify opportunities to meet the consumer demand for experimentation to drive business growth.

1:00 pm – 1:30 pm: “Make-up Trends in Asia (Japan, Korea) and France.”
Different perceptions of beauty ideals, different application techniques, different color palettes, different textures and finishes…. women are similar and yet so different, always seeking beauty in their own way. Florence Bernardin, director of the Information & Inspiration agency, will use illustrations and products to decipher the codes and expectations of make-up for Japanese, Korean and French women.


2:00 pm – 3:00 pm: 
“The California Makeup Scene.”
With Jill Tomandl/ Samantha Cutler, Smashbox; Bill Hughes, Bare Escentuals; Ingrid Jackel, Physician’s Formula and Mary Van Marty, general manager of OPI products Inc.

9:30 am – 10:30 am: “Psychology of Color Marketing”
Most of us have no idea of the power of color. It influences so much of our daily lives. Leslie Harrington, Color Association of the US, will explore and explain how to harness the power of color and ensure your brand is sending the right message.


12:15 am – 01:15 pm: 
“From Formula to Distribution of Must Have Makeup Products.” 
How does a formula become a good product?
With the participation of: David Zelesnick, VP R&D with Nuworld Beauty ; Nick Gardner, EVP of sales with HCT group, Eve Pearl five-time Emmy award winner and founder of Eve Pearl Beauty Brands.

Don’t Miss the Cocktail Party
For its 4th annual reception, MakeUp in New York will hold its cocktail event at the prestigious New York Athletic Club. This event will be in conjunction with CIBS. This year, students of the Cosmetic and Fragrance Marketing Association (CFMA), part of FIT, will present their interpretation of the color PINK at the cocktail event.
